Cable Assisted Rendezvous for Aircraft with Surface Locations
نویسندگان
چکیده
By systematically altering the in-plane flight path and velocity of an aircraft and the rate at which the cable is deployed, the tip of a cable being towed behind an aircraft is shown to rendezvous with a ground-based surface location in minimum time, with minimum control effort required. This is achieved through optimal control, formulated as a nonlinear programming problem using the Legendre-pseudospectral method. This method is fast, efficient and accurate. Results depicting a typical payload transportation operation are presented and discussed, along with directions for future research. The robustness of the method to disturbances is also explored. Classifying Faults Locations in Cable Terminations and Investigation of the Faults Reasons
Cable termination faults are problematic in electrical networks almost always. Technology has solved problems somewhat, but there are many annual reports about damaged cable terminations. For analyzing the problems, faults in two regional electricity companies are studied. At first step, damaged cable terminations are analyzed statistically and grouped according to their problems. Then, some of...
متن کاملTowards A Knowledge Based Cable Router for Aerospace Vehicles
The design of electrical wiring and hydraulic/pneumatic piping routes in aircraft is a long and repetitive process which is largely done by hand. Presented in this paper is progress in the development of a knowledge based routing system which automates much of the routing process using intelligent algorithms and interchangeable design rules. The system reads three dimensional CAD models to be n...

Due to high surface-to-volume ratio of nanoscale structures, surface stress effects have a significant influence on their behavior. In this paper, a two-dimensional problem for an elastic layer that is bonded to a rigid substrate and subjected to an inclined concentrated line load acting on the surface of the layer is investigated based on Gurtin-Murdoch continuum model to consider surface stre...
متن کاملForces on Temperature Cables in a Model Bin Under Restrained Conditions
Temperature cables restrained from lateral movement, were measured as a function of grain height, cable location and surface coating. For the restrained conditions, the cable forces were one to nine times those previously measured for unrestrained cables. The large load increase on the restrained cables is believed to be caused by the flow profile which existed at each of the three different ca...
